Batch & Expiry

Make use of our batch product feature to allow yourself to manage production and stock that is produced and held in batches and ensure regulatory compliance. Furthermore, the expiry feature makes it easier to manage stock that includes perishable goods.

Batch & Expiry can be applied and managed in both the assembly module and the standard/simple trading module.

Batches

Batch & expiry functionality in FastAccounts is particularly important for businesses that are production oriented.

Industries with a reliance on production, require that you keep a record of batch numbers. As a result, we made sure that you could do this seamlessly in our accounting software. To add a batch number when creating a new job, simply head to the jobs screen, found in the “Assembly” module, and press the “Add New” button in the top right panel of the screen. Here you will find a form that allows you to fill out the details of your new assembly job. In this form, you will also find that under the details section it is required that you add a batch number to the job, for compliance purposes.

Expiry

Furthermore, FastAccounts requires you to also give an associated expiry date with every job you add. This is for the same reason as the batch numbers, for regulatory compliance. Most industries with batch production will also require an expiry date for each of the batches produced, and as such we also ensured this could be done easily in the add new jobs form. You will find that you can fill out the expiry date under the details section of the form.

Examples of industries that would have a significant reliance on these features are the medical, cosmetics, and chemical industries. All medicines are produced in batches and are required to have batches for the reason of record keeping and tracking of these batches should any issues be found. Furthermore, medicines are required to have their expiry dates documented. Both of these regulatory requirements can easily be fulfilled using FastAccounts, and the medical industry is just one of many industries that can benefit from our batch & expiry functionality.
